EUTOPIA Innovation Challenges

Ljubljana, Slovenia, 14th – 17th October 2024

Innovation Challenges for Researchers at the University of Ljubljana is a 4-days training programme. It will be organised in close connection to Slovenia’s Science and Innovation Festival UNI.MINDS, connecting researchers and industry.

The training program aims to support the transformation of researchers, universities into actors of societal change, through fostering international and regional collaboration with public and private partners. The four days event will provide ample opportunities for meeting companies of all sizes, including start-ups and fellow researchers from Eutopia Universities.

Who is it for?

The training is intended for Researchers, Young Leaders Academy participants and Early Career Researchers, who are interested in collaborating with external partners (industrial partners).

The Ljubljana event is focusing on the following research topics:

  • Sustainable construction.
  • Sustainable materials.
  • HVAC.

  • Digitalisation in agriculture.
  • Design and Tourism.
  • Biotech related.

Nevertheless, applications from researchers from other research fields are also welcome.

What is it in for me, if I apply?

First, we will provide you training on “how to define and measure” impact of your research activities (focus on companies) and you will get support from UL’s experienced mentors. You will discover the lovely city of Ljubljana, where you will be able to meet and talk to Slovenian biotech companies in researchers. You will also participate in company visits to Hidria, Oljarna Lisjak (in Primorska region) and Marles, (in Štajerska region) discover their challenges and, if you wish, participate at solving them or just make connections. On the way to company visits, you will meet and talk to other researchers, & companies from Slovenia.

When is that happening?

The training will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, between 14th and 17th October 2024.
